McKayla first met the Ducks when she was on a ski trip with her friends & family.
She and her friends were playing ice hockey on a lake, not knowing that the Ducks were nearby. When McKayla went to
retrieve a stray puck, she fell through the ice, into the icy-cold water. The Ducks heard someone calling out for help
and ran over to see the commotion. Maverick skated over carefully and helped McKayla out of the water (with help from
his teammates). Then, he carried her into the ski lodge, with the Ducks & Kay's friends following. There,
they all helped her warm up with some hot cocoa and also, she changed into dry clothes & sat by the fire. In the
meantime, Brandon called their parents (Jess & Byron), who were out skiing, on their cell phone, and told them what had
happened to McKayla. When Jess & Byron returned to the lodge, they noticed the Ducks and were reunited with their
friends.
