In the days that followed, the Ducks eventually found Angelwing,
but not how they'd expected. She wasn't exactly herself anymore. In fact, she was more like Dragaunus' puppet,
obeying his every order.
On this day, the Ducks found themselves fighting against Angelwing
and the Saurians at a nuclear power plant, just outside the city of Anaheim. Dragaunus' goons had managed to frighten
off and capture the humans working there, taking the power plant into their own hands. That is, until the Ducks showed
up.
"Awe, they always ruin our fun," Chameleon complained as he
brought out his laser gun.
"We'll ruin a lot more than that," Wildwing threatened as the
Ducks burst into the room.
Angelwing growled in frustration, but not in her own voice.
Her voice now, was a bit deeper and raspy. She pointed to the three henchmen. "You three get to the reactors!
I'll deal with these trouble makers."
"I can't believe we're taking orders from a duck," Siege grumbled
as he disappeared with the other two.
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that," Angelwing said back to him
before turning to face the Mighty Ducks. "Now, where was I?" she asked herself aloud, grinning evilly. "Oh yes,
I remember." She looked at the team of ducks and pulled out her duck saber.
"I knew it," Mallory was saying as she reached for her puck
cannon. "I told you she was working for Dragaunus!"
"No!" Wildwing snapped back at her, refusing to believe it.
"Something's wrong. Look at her eyes." He had noticed when Angelwing turned to look at them, her eye's were glowing
green.
"Kinda like Phil's eyes when Wraith was controlling his mind,"
Duke pointed out.
"You guys think that's what happened to Angelwing?" Nosedive
questioned, looking around at his team mates.
"It's possible," Grin commented gravely, "but I sense something
much more evil."
Angelwing stood, laughing meniacally. "I guess you guys
are smarter than you look," she quipped. "Now, who'll be my first victim? Any volunteers? Or do
I have to tear you all to shreds?" she challenged them.
The Ducks were hesitant at first, but at last, Ariana stepped
forward with her saber drawn. "Angelwing, don't do this. This isn't like you," she pleaded with her older sister.
Angelwing sneered, grinning malevolently. "Maybe it's
because I'm not Angelwing," she retorted.
Meanwhile, Wildwing whispered back to the rest of his team.
"Nosedive, Duke, Mallory, you guys go and find Dragaunus' goons and stop them from setting off those reactors. Grin
and I will stay and help Ariana." The three nodded in understanding of their orders and immediately ran off. Wildwing
turned back to Ariana just in time to see Angelwing lunge at her.
Ariana dodged out of the way, but was still caught off
guard by a swift kick to her gut. Right away, Ariana grabbed her midsection and doubled over in pain. Angelwing
was about to strike again, this time, bringing her blade down upon her sister. Ariana looked up at her with fear in
her eyes. Then, she closed her eyes, unable to move, and waited for the sharp blow of the sword. But, to Ariana's
surprise, there was none. She opened her eyes and stood up, slowly.
"Huh?" She looked up and saw that Grin had taken Angelwing
by surprise, and had grabbed her wrists before she could deliver her blow.
"Let go of me, you big oaf!" Angelwing yelled angrilly as she
struggled to free herself.
Grin had to tighten his grip to keep hold of her. "Calm
down my friend. We don't want to hurt you. We only want to bring you to your senses."
"Forget it!" she snapped back as she started kicking Grin.
Finally she managed to kick him hard enough so that he let go of her.
Off in a far corner of the large room, another male duck sat
hiding, watching quietly and patiently. "No way that's Angelwing," he thought to himself. "First of all, I thought
she was dead, and second, she'd never act like that. There's no way she'd ever side with Dragaunus."
Suddenly, there was a flash of light and about a dozen hunter
drones appeared out of nowhere. Each of them had their blasters aimed at the three Mighty Ducks.
"Just thought I'd even things up a bit," the unknown duck heard
Angelwing say. He scoffed at the situation, dubbing it unfair.
"You call that even?!" he thought.
Before long, the drones were firing at the three ducks and
they were off running for cover. Grin and Wildwing stayed on one side of the room, ducking and hiding behind some large
computers, while Arina ran to the far side of the room, hoping to throw off and confuse the drones. She dived behing
some boxes just as a laser blast exploded by her feet. What she didn't notice was that she was right across the
way from the intruding, male duck.
Ariana quickly got back to her feet and turned around to find
a hunter drone, ready to fire at her. She grabbed her pucklauncher and fiddled to aim it at the drone.
From across the way, the visiting duck could see that
the female was in danger. "I don't think so," he muttered as he fired his pucklauncher at the drone.
All of a sudden, the hunter drone in front of Ariana, exploded,
without warning. Ariana ducked and held her arms up to shield herself and to avoid being hit by the flying debris.
When the smoke cleared, she stood up and looked beyond where the drone once stood. There, across from her, was another
male duck! Ariana had been saved by another duck! But, who was he and how did he get here?
He stood about six feet tall with tan feathers, no hair- just
a tuft of feathers on his head, and a muscular build. In Ariana's opinion, he was pretty darn good looking. "Tall,
dark, and handsome," she thought to herself, as he started walking towards her.
"Are you alright?" he asked her, trying to be friendly.
Ariana looked up and replied with a slight smile. "Yeah,
thanks." Then her expression turned to curiosity. "But, who are -?"
The stranger held up his hand, cutting her off. "Let's
save the introductions for later," he told her. "Right now, we've gotta help the others."
Ariana was a bit skeptical at first, but after a few seconds,
she nodded her head in compliance with his orders and after pulling out her saber again, she followed him to where Wildiwng
and Grin had been hiding. Up until then the two Mighty Ducks had made short work of the drones that had engaged them.
But now, another wave of drones was upon them, so Ariana and her new companion had to fight their way through them to
get to Grin and Wildwing.
For awhile, it seemed as if there would be no end to the drones.
But, after a few good hits from Grin, and several explosive pucks, supplied by Ariana, the Ducks managed to destroy all of
the hunter drones. When, at last, the final drone was taken care of, Wildwing turned to Ariana and noticed the newcomer
standing next to her. Wildwing's jaw dropped and he stood, gaping at the stranger.
"Hey buddy!" the tan duck greeted him happily.
Wildwing just stared back in confusion and delight. "Canard?!"
